I've never played the Thurston Moore JM, or even seen one in person, so I can't really sayJazztastic wrote: Hope you don't mind if I ask which you find the better of the sonic Jazzmasters?

And I'm not done with black instruments! I like guitar of all colors, but black gear has a special magnet on me these last few years.scott_va wrote:Hmm...two of your guitars seem to be the wrong color.noisemaster wrote:SignoftheDragon convinced me to post this picture.
Cool--this is the first time I've seen your page. The designs look really good!niksureal wrote: http://www.rockettoneguitars.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It was my dad's. He replaced the mini-humbuckers with full sized ones before vintage guitars became valuable and it was refinished black after a headstock break. I don't mind so much. The black looks super sexy and It's the best sounding guitar I have

Re: Post pics of your guitar family
Wow--you've pared down a lot; sort of "one of each." What's the hollow-body on the left?
(FWIW, I'm in the middle of a similar "pare-down-and-switch," but with nowhere near as nice a collection.)

Re: Post pics of your guitar family
The hollowbody is a Harmony H-74 I found on Craigslist - it was in bad shape when I got it. Paring down was a very conscious decision - I've fluctuated between 2 and 10 electric six strings for the past few years and it was just stupid. I hardly ever played them all and I don't play out much anymore so it was silly to have so many guitars. I knew I wanted a bass, an acoustic and maybe 2 or 3 electrics - even that is overkill, but it's better than having 10 electrics plus basses and acoustics...The process wasn't without some missteps though - there were at least 3 or 4 other guitars not pictured that cycled through between 2009 and 2011! I don't miss any of them.
p.s. Would still love to add a Tele and a Jazzmaster to the mix but I'm resisting temptation... for now.

It's hard to resist, but it seems like you could do just about anything with the four you have, assuming you don't need a 12-string or want to play metal.Craig Gates wrote:p.s. Would still love to add a Tele and a Jazzmaster to the mix but I'm resisting temptation... for now.
