Curious; is the Fender Japan catalog ( 1995 ) accurate that these are basswood? Bizarre choice for a blonde finish:

Re: The Japanese Limited Edition Blonde Jazzmaster & Jaguar Thre
These were the specs I got a while back when I e-mailed Fender about mine, so that would seem to be an affirmative. It's odd that it says 595 were made, considering the neck pocket of mine shows 75/330.

I just noticed in the pic it's a JM66 instead of a JM62, that seems not right. Did it change from a 62 to a 66 and stay in the Japanese market for the following year?

Not present in the ‘94 catalog; only ‘95 . They also appear to list the wrong colors under the Jazzmaster (the Japanese text for both specifically reads ‘off-white blonde’ in the description; that’s the correct color listed on on the Jaguar but the Jazzmaster shows additional color options that probably are not real.

Re: The Japanese Limited Edition Blonde Jazzmaster & Jaguar Thre
Right, I got mine in '94 brand new so I thought maybe the '95 catalog was showing something very similar but different, maybe just for the Japanese market. That is all kinds of weird, though. It shows the bridge as gold (which I'm guessing the "G" in "JM566-85G" refers to as well), but you're right that the colors are all wrong. Since they got the Jag color right, maybe someone just screwed up and took the colors from the JM66-80 and copied them over. There's still the question of why these are referred to as JM66s, and why they both have "NEW" next to them if they were introduced the year before, unless they are really a different guitar somehow.Danley wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 12:12 pmNot present in the ‘94 catalog; only ‘95 . Sorry but you need 50 posts on the forum to offer something for sale, this isn't a drive by market.

Re: The Japanese Limited Edition Blonde Jazzmaster & Jaguar Thre
Sorry, I didn't know. I thought it would be the right place, because several posts in this thread say that people are searchng hard for these two rare guitars. As this is a specific community for offset guitars and this special thread is the only place in the web with substant content about these rare guitars, I thought it would not only be a chance for me, but also a chance for the community to end the search and fulfill the wish of getting one of these.
Btw, I feel offended by the comment "selling something at funerals", I think a reminder would have been sufficient. In consequnce, I'll leave this community alone in the future, as the mods seem to prefer to offend people that are new to the community and didn't know that they made a mistake, instead of telling them in a freindly way. Bye.

Most people are going to be put off by someone who is new to a community just barging in and trying to sell shit. It isn't hard to figure out.

People who are "new to the community" in the sense of wanting to be part of the community don't tend to make their username the two guitars they expressly came here to advertise selling.people that are new to the community and didn't know that they made a mistake
People who are established in the community don't tend to want to send thousands of dollars to someone over the internet whose first and only post was to advertise guitars for sale.

Perhaps we need a new subforum: a 'safe space' for all of those offended by big bad internet strangers

Where can I find out more about this desert swamp land?

Andy, this is up your way … send me $10k a paper bag with non sequential notes (just like NSW cricket players do to become a member of the Australian National cricket team) and I'll send you ownership documents signed in crayon.
