I REALLY REALLY like that one! I would like to build one with a similar finish. I bet it would be difficult to do well though, unless done professionally.

The Blue Sparkle JM belonged to Buddy Kendrick, an old sales rep for Fender. The finish has no official name, it's a one-off sample.

i know a guy who has a G&L commanche (strat) exactlly the same colour as that first one, he calls it 'blueburst sparkle' or something like that, very cool indeed.

ooohh yes... that sparkly blue burst that DarrelT posted above IS beautiful... i can't seem to get any of the original pics to load either... is that the only photo they had?

That is not Marlin Burst. MB is very much like Antigua, but going to Blue-Green.
Competition Stripes make them play FASTER.

Oh? I'm guessing a TRUE Marlin Burst is different than Elvis Costello's "Marlin Burst" jazzmaster?
