B&B: Blocks and Binding (ex. post 1966 necks on Jazzmasters)
D&B: Dots and Binding (some necks between 1965 and 1966, the transition before blocks, but with binding)
CAR: Candy Apple Red
OLP: Original Lake Placid (Blue)
OTM: Ocean Turquoise Metallic
MOP: Mother of Pearl
DRRI: Deluxe Reverb Re-Issue
TRRI: Twin-Reverb Re-Issue
MIK: Made in Korea (hello, Squier)

Maybe you could group these into like categories (colors, country of origin, gear), or does alphabetically work better?

I figured a single alphabetical list would work best, because if people encounter an acronym they don't know and go to look it up, they won't necessarily know what category to look in if its something they've never seen before.

I might be wrong, but I think it's Old Lake Placid. Maybe not.

IMHO - In My Hipster Opinion
IMMH - It Makes Me Hard(I want that guitar)
FS/T - For Sale/Trade
YMMV - Latin for "I'm probably full of shit", Yumanos Manurum Mar Veritas
Alnico - Aluminum Nickel Cobalt alloy, common grades are 2, 3, 5, and 8, represent different ratios of Al, Ni, and Co. Higher grades are more magnetic, thus emphasizing treble frequencies more
My Fender goes to twelve.

Updated with most of the guitar-related stuff posted thus far. I'm trying to avoid most of the generic internet stuff, but "YMMV" made it in because guitarists just love saying that for some reason.

More 60's Fender custom colours:

BMM - Burgundy Mist Metallic
OLY - Olympic White

and this one maybe:
Tort - Tortoise pattern plastic pickguard material.
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Abbreviations. :) I'll add a section for those if there are enough to justify it.

Well I guess they're abbrevations, but not acronyms.... ;)

Does stronger string pull = "more magnetic"? Hmmmmm. I gather from lurking at Music Electronics Forum > Guitar Tech > Pickup Makers that many factors can influence a magnet's properties, including shape, thickness, casting, charging, de-gaussing, manufacturer's secret blend of herbs & spices, etcetera. Wiser heads than mine have cautioned that an Alnico magnet's numerical grade tells only a fraction of what you need to know to dial in a particular sound. Not only treble freqs
are affected but mids as well, in fact the whole range -- plus harmonics, sustain, & everything else. If we're gonna have an official definition of Alnico, we'd be well-served by detailed, accurate info.

Me, I dunno nothin', just wanna get the straight skinny on Alnico from any OSGers with chops in electromagnetic engineering or whatever it's called. Where's Nikola Tesla when we need him?
