Despite being a knock-off copy of Leo's work, I seem to remember something about many people regarding the Fano as one of the few upgrades or improvements to the Jazzmaster design.

YMMV... as mine does.

How so? It's basically a Jazzmaster with a TOM and P-90's, but without a trem or a rhythm circuit. I consider that a variation (and an appealing if not particularly innovative one), but not an upgrade or improvement. And there are a number of guitar makers doing Fender-Gibson hybrids like that, even within the offset vein. What's special about the Fano?

Like a PRS grabs some of the best qualities of a Stratocaster and incorporates them into what is essentially a Gibson Les Paul Junior design,

The Fano incorporates some of the best aspects of the Les Paul Special and incorporates them into the Jazzmaster Design.

sidebar...Don't forget, the Jazzmaster started out as Leo's attempt to emulate the best of the Gibson hollowbody with bigsby guitars being used by Jazz Guitar Masters.  Hence the name, hence the design with pickups that were similar to P90s and Gibson's incredible Alnico-2 (velvet brick sometimes called).  Of course the arrival of humbuckers along with the natural resonance of the hollow-body doomed the JM to failure in that market.

The misnamed JM found its market niche outside of that...

So I like the Fano

I was going to add the ESP Viper, which looks like an offset SG, but after looking at it, I don't think it would quite make the cut... ::)

And the Jay Turser Surf Master is exactly the same as the Hutchins Beachcomber...
One more guitar, then I'll practice!

The "Decca Strat" is a Teisco, and it is not an offset, although Teisco did make a fair share of those.

Hello I'm new and I must say, what an amazing site. I've got a CIJ Jazzmaster (which is unfortunately ill at the moment due to wiring problems) but would love to know if one of my many others qualifies as an offset?

Eastwood Wandre Doris. Apologies for the poor quality pic, but it's dark in London at the moment!

Howsabout the Mighty Mite "Mercury" body?  :k
Also, the Schecter "Hellcat" model is offset. And does the Tokai "Humming Bird" count as (reverse) offset?
Nina, it's Wednesday! Where are the angry eyes?!?!
