You wouldn't be post-pumping to get to the trade section, by any chance? Nobody in this thread actually bought one of these.

Its up for pre-order at dolphin music, its priced at £1,942.80 though!

Considering that the AVRI is £1568, that seems incredibly expensive to me

FUCK. I can't believe them muvvafukkas moved the vibrato again! God damn. Everything about these is so damn hot and tempting, but that moved vibrato just kills it for me. WHy!?! Ugh. Someone needs to get at Fender and tell them to stop trying to fix shit that ain't broken.
Det er mig der holder traeerne sammen.

It really doesn't do it for me at all, especially with that price-tag.

Have they ever thought about redesigning the bridge with deeper grooves or shipping a buzzstop in the case candy instead of moving the vibrato? At least then you can choose not to use the buzzstop or replace it with classic saddles if you really wanted a classic jag?

I'd be all for them making this new trem placment a new jag model like a "Modern Jag" or "Jag Plus" or something, but when the first line in their pitch is "Our 50th Anniversary Jaguar guitar takes you back to 1962." I wonder, why the move and isn't that what the AVRI is for?

Thats a really good idea including a buzzstop in the case candy, its such a shame they moved the vibrato.

Even just supplying a mustang bridge or saddles in the case candy would be a way to keep most people happy......ah well

I would believe that Frank Black had a Jag, but I don't know how frequently he used it. I've definitely seen him play a Mustang, though.
Frank Black with a Mustang! That must have looked like a tiny toy guitar on him!

I hate how Fender decides to celebrate the anniversary of my favorite guitar by changing just about everything about it that made me love them in the first place. Hotter pickups! Moved Trem! No thanks. Thankfully, I won't want one of these, couldn't afford it anyway.

On another note, I don't get bent out of shape on the fretboard radius. I have a AVRI and a Thinskin and just don't feel much of a difference with the way I play. However, this anniversary model should have been all vintage spec without question.

the angled neck is a really good idea, only marginally better, but more sensible than a shim. if angled enough it wouldn't need the trem closer, though i've never tried it so i don't really know if its important.

wrong price tag... should be same as the avri, seeing as its almost the same in materials and construction, but in different places.

on the B-sides cd there's some videos on it. a live version in an empty stadium, and he's playing a white mustang IIRC.

oh here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvwfMXnNPdo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

it does not look out of proportion, as he was quite skinny back then, still.

re: the 50th anni jag - NO. the vibrato position kills it for me. and the pricetag.

Pat.

No guitar should come with a Buzz Stop. :k :k :k :k

I find it amusing that Fender has released a "50th Anniversary" edition of a 1962 guitar, then made it look like a 1966. :freako:
The AVRI is about as close to an early '62 as you'll get. They probably realized that, so they made this.

I sure would like one of them necks, though. 8)

I'd take a buzzstop in the case, that I could throw away if I wanted to, over the new trem placement and all the other changes though.

i really dont care if the trem is more close to the bridge or not, but i think its ridiculous to celebrate 50 years of jag with a non vintage accurate jag.
And i really dont like none of those colors, but that is a matter of taste.
