I don't know why but I get the feeling you like Jaguars It looks really pretty congrats. If it were me, I'd keep the tort since I think sunburst jags look best w/tort. Also B&B, my god! I'd love some B&B on my CP but I guess I'll have to live with the dots.

Thanks guys... I'm very excited indeed.
Yes, vintage styled Jaguars have the original floating bridge with the threaded saddles. This one was second hand, but it also has those stock saddles. I put a mustang bridge on it last night and it works great (im still yet to intonate it).
The Blacktops have an "adjustomatic" bridge which is like a tune-o-matic gibson styled one, just made of a 9.5" radius.
also, I'll put some pictures up of the mint one on the guitar soon.
I had a look at the website, they're pretty nice and cheap... but I might be able to get a better deal with the Lollar distributor in Australia, so i'll have a good think about it... any other brands? I've already got Novaks in my other two Jaguars and I want something different.dug wrote:I would get some pickup wizard pickups! His jag pickups are super sweet.
Thanks man... Its good to know that this Jaguar has been blessed by another OSG member. Yep, it's tough to find the B&B ones in Australia, and the only place that had them was concept... It took a good week to be driven from west to east, but it's here now.jagstang97 wrote:Hahah i just saw this, concept isnt far from me.
im pretty sure i played that guitar, good work on getting the price down, from memory it was a nice player.
oh also i seem to remember the bridge didnt have threaded saddles, i can kinda see from the picture that it doesnt?
dont all jags have threaded saddles? or are those B+B's different?
the new blacktops have a simialar bridge do they have string groves?

I like them just a tad I now agree with keeping tort on there. last night when installing the bridge, I took the guard off and put an old mint one on, but it didn't suit the guitar... I also put the pickguardian tort on from my white jaguar, but that looked a bit off too. Frankly, the current one isn't too bad, but i'd still like to get something a little more dark red. I would go for a WD music one but their international shipping prices are stupidly expensive... any other suggestions?rustyshackleford wrote:I don't know why but I get the feeling you like Jaguars It looks really pretty congrats. Ok, Here are some pictures of the Jag with a mint guard. I'm not really a fan. It looks nice with dots and aged pickup covers and a trem tip, but I don't think that this guitar pulls it off...
the other pictures are of the original Tort in sunlight. It looks a bit cheap in my opinion.
let me know what you all think.

I really like it with the mint guard, it isn't as played out as the tort... and looks quite classy to boot! The B&B neck really sets it off, either way she looks great

If you really didn't like the mint you could always send it to me... I'm really wanting to replace my tort with with that now. So classy.

Thanks for the Jaguar love...
I'll slowly look around for a nicer tort, but i'm in no rush.

Seriously, if you were in Melbourne I would have actually done exactly that. But it's probably much cheaper for you to grab one in Canada. (also, occasionally I put it on my white Jaguar so I can pretend to be Johnny Marr...)empyrean wrote:If you really didn't like the mint you could always send it to me... thanks! I was really lucky that it turned out nicely. It almost looks like ash on a 70s Jaguar... and cheers on my haggling skills too...jfiedler26 wrote:Love the wood grain on this! Awesome price too!

The mint is nice, but IMO it makes it look too Stratty. I'd just look for a nicer tort.
Awesome guitar, by the way.

Thanks... I think that if I had aged pickup covers and an aged trem tip then I would be able to pull the mint off, otherwise you're right. It looks too "generic fender"

I say, swap necks with the white one.
They did a beautiful job with the burst -congratulations!
By the way, Your binding looks white, but I know a couple of guys on here have had issues with the binding being so yellow it matches the neck.
Mine's white... What gives?

Thanks! I didn't end up swapping necks or guards (except the mint occasionally swaps with the tort on the white Jag)Grey Garden wrote:I say, swap necks with the white one.

Believe me, my binding looks like a pretty similar colour to the neck, but at least it's noticeable.
Is yours whiter than mine?

Have a look:
http://greygarden.org/OSGBINDINGCOMPARISON" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The last 2 photos are of my Bass VIs binding for comparison.
By the way, PLEASE show me how to post photos on here (you can use PM so we don't demolish the thread).
Can they be posted from "My Photos" on Windows? Must they be uploaded first?
Whenever I try IMG or URL, it just posts with the text in there.
