Plug is plastic. No idea about what the skunk stripe is there, when the JMJM is without one.

don't think that's entirely true. i think lots of the wires run through tunnels in the wood (cavities not completely open).

not my pic, but do you see what i mean? Your esentially desoldering every little section in the cavities That's a lot of taking apart and putting together.

unless of course i am wrong and it's easy like you say. like i said, i'm not good with electronics.
Sorry, my brain was on JMs. Sorry.

Between the Mustang bridge and the BT Jazzmaster bridge, which would be the better choice for the VM Jag? Any other thing to upgrade for better stability? Nut perhaps? Thanks!

Nut on my VM Mustang was not good (replaced it with a TUSQ nut), and bridge was meh (replaced it with a mij-mustang-bridge on which I tried to correct the radius-mismatch myself, but a staytrem bridge would probably be better). Vibrato unit was pretty terrible too (replaced it with a 60's one, which can be found pretty cheap on ebay).

Pickups are pretty low-output, but fine, replaced them with MIJ's, but no big difference (as far as I can remember)

By the way the tremolo unit on the Jaguar should be fine (trem arm on the Squiers stays in way better then on the US and MIJ versions as far as I can tell).

How's the "binding" holding up? I just bought the tape to do it.

Thank HNB and you for the inspiration.

That's great news. This weekend my Jag gets the matching headstock treatment and then the faux binding. :D

Spitfire, those matching headstocks on Squiers! You're turning the Squier world upside-down.

Just like it should be lol. I didn't paint them just so you know. I got the Jag painted by HNB and the JM was already like that when I received it. I do claim the tort though, now thats mine.

It's a nice tort! Very fire-y. Matching headstocks should really be on every Jag/JM, nice guitars!

Only mods I've done to mine is EYguitar mint pickguard and EYguitar Mustang bridge.

The EY pickguard is pretty accurate, I only had to redrill 3 of the holes. the sharp bit on the left horn is more rounded off compared to any other models bit still looks fine.
The bridge, I used blu-tac in the post screws to stop them from retracting from vibration. I also wrapped tape around the poles to reduce movement when the tremolo is being used.
