Mid-2012 Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster Jaguar Mustang

Post by vistavision » Mon Apr 02, 2012 12:50 am

These pictures have been floating around for about a month or so and I figured they would already be up here.
No idea of MSRP, MAP, or announcement/release date. Fender is probably aiming for sometime between late-Spring and Summer NAMM so don't start bugging your Fender dealer yet. I doubt most of the reps know. I would hazard a guess that they will be around the same price as the Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster. It's all conjecture, really. At least they seem more Vintage than Modified.

Why do Squiers always get stuck in front of a brickwall?

...And bridge detail. Mastery will probably have to add a 3rd shift!

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Holly crap ! Please tell me it's not a joke. I'm much more a Squier enthusiast than a Fender one. It'll really make my day if it's true !

Agreed. That green Jag is SEXY. :?

I was gonna jump on a JMJM, but now it appears that patience may be in order. Especially if it's a similar price point. Oh Squire...you doin' good...

Oh my. I'll take one of each! Although, I'll probably stick with my JMJM rather than buy one of those JMs, even though I prefer those colours. Please tell me this isn't an April fool.

Please.

These photos do look heavily comped and photoshopped...

Also, is it me, or is the trem in the correct place?

when i was looking on the fender website for jags 2 years ago there was only 3 models avaiable: The avris, the classic players, and the black ones with HH configuration.
Now you have on the fender web site 12 models to choose from and considering this topic the number is increasing. What a diference in 2 years. I almost dare to say that jags are becoming popular!?

These seem like a budget CIJ then. I imagine they'll be made in the same Chinese factory as the J Mascis, which is no bad thing - I've been immensely happy with mine.

If these are real, they are best case scenario guitars for me. I use so much reverb and fuzz that I don't think a 'better' guitar made of fewer chunks of wood would make a huge difference, and I'd be too scared to play a more expensive guitar live (especially given the way I play). Also, If they cost the same as the JMJM i'll be able to buy all 3 for the price of one AVRI!
