I don't think there's much difference in depth between the Mascis and VM neck. The Mascis is a little more rounder and has more on the shoulders. I assume that the VM's will still come out of the same factory so the necks should be similar to the current version. The VM neck is the best feeling neck I've ever owned!

OK I just went cross eyed looking through about 20 pages of post on this, I guess I'll be another person asking A. is this official and B. what's the release date?
I'm about to cancel my order for a Squire JMJM that is supposedly if this is legit I need that red Jaguar!

Thanks!

So, did we ever figure out if the Tremolo position will be vintage correct or not (not sure if the pictures are correct, or if its a photoshop mock-up)? If it is, and people start parting these out on eBay like they do with CP and AVRI, I might try and replace the body on my CP so I can have a custom color CP with vintage trem positioning--and all for a pretty low price, too.

I've been thinking along similar lines, but I'm worried they'll be pricing the body at nearly the full price of the guitar.

I'll get the sonic blue jazz and trade you the white for the tort.

I keep checking in on this topic and just had a thought (note I didn't say it was a good one) that what this thread needs is a wiki. A post after the OP that contains all the important information would reduce the number of questions from those who didn't read the full 44 pages of posts. Is the forum software capable of doing that?

I hope the sonic blue jazzy isn't that whitish colored. Squier's surf strats in sonic blue and surf green are a gross, washed out looking color from the photos I've seen :-X . If so, it will definitely be getting a refin.

I've seen the sonic blue surf strat. It was pretty washed out, but it looked better, and bluer than the photos would suggest.

Can also vouch on Surf Green. I remember a few friends who had the Squier Tom Delonge Strats in surf green, they were pretty vibrant.
