i have a 65 re-issue on layaway right now. its SOOOO amazing. it plays better than any vintage mustang ive ever played. it sounds KILLER. i cant wait until i bring it home. I'll do a full write-up!

Hi, 'Stang's are lovely guitars yes, but I don't see how they are offsets, I eman the body looks like a smaller strat to me? Am I blind or is there a different reason?

Mustangs are definitely offsets.   What is "offset" is the waist of the guitar.

I crossed the waistlines of a $tratocaster and a Mustang on photoshop to show you how a Mustang is an offset, as opposed to the $trat's traditionnal waist:

That would make a great little outrigger decal for the ball-end of the headstock....
