From the pics I have to say - am very very impressed. :-*

Questions
is that rather decent looking board buzzy much? - and what is the tone like regards those very Fender looking Jaguar pickups.

Here it is next to its sibling

First impression is good...for the money. Craftmenship/assembly is nice overall tho I've seen some other minor finishing issues (check photo for black stripe next to sidedot), nothing to complain about. I do totally have no idea whats' going on at the armrest. Really weird 3D-ish kind of effect in the wood or finish there. The bridge is a kind of combination between a mustang and jazzmaster bridge. Soundwise it kinda reminds me of a fender jazz I guess but with the (subtle) differences when combining pickups you can get a lot of sounds. Fingerstyle seems okay so far! The strangle switch cuts some lows and when activated, nothing fancy there. Action is pretty good straight from the box, tuners seem to hold well but I have yet to attach the tremolo-arm.

Might do a simple youtube clip later today.

How is the low e-string working out?
You don't sound too impressed but, as the voice of everyone here who wants one ( ), do you think it'll play better after a setup?

To be honest I wrote it down really quickly during uploading the photos because I want to play it a lot more. And English is not my first language so bare with me. I've also had a Gretsch Jet Baritone strung E to E just like this one which I sold to get the bassVI, not knowing they would be available so soon. So far I'm liking the squier better but I kinda popped my 'wow I have a BassVI look at me LOOK AT MEEE' cherry already. But I do like supplying the internets with some info and pictures for all of those whose GAS need to be cured .

Also, the neck has a poly coat on the back, not satin. About the pickguard: the plastic is still on it, as well as on the pups. It feels well balanced, no neckdive. It weighs a lot more then my jazzmaster tho. I've read in my 'Fender the golden age" book that the Jaguar guitar was invented with a shorter scale than the jazzmaster because guitarists complained the frets were to far away from the body. I guess those people should stay away from this BassVI.
