It's not just the fact that I think the Stratocaster never looked good (don't like the shape, don't like the volume knob, don't like the oversized pickguard, not enogh chrome, don't like three pickups... at least it sounds good) - it's the fact that some people who are not Stevie Ray Vaughan want to have that guitar to make them feel as if they were him, even if they are far from that or are mere copyists of his style.
I love the strat, but i could see how the oversaturation of strats everywhere in music can be a turn off. It's true that the 'white blues guy' thing doesn't exactly do wonders for the image of the stratocaster. That's the only negative i can see. If i'm judging the guitar on it's own, then it's a total winner. The design is absolutely classic and yet has that 1950s future space theme to it. The guitar plays amazingly, has a great variety of tones... what more do you want?
For all the SRV's, past their prime claptons, there are a bunch of dudes who make the strat super cool.

If you're hitting switches on your jag and whining about it you shouldn't play one.

Yes.
My point was: it's not the Strat itself, I would "kill forever" only the SRV strat.

I have never ever hit a switch accidentally while playing jags for almost 20 years now. Give me 5 minutes with a strat and I have hit that volume knob down to 5. How is this design considered the standard in which all are judged? Maybe I play weird or something... I don't get it. Sig guitars annoy the hell out of me and what dude wants to get on stage with SRV initials on his guitar? I already know I don't like that guy just by looking at him! I will say I am chomping at the bit for a Marr jag. I will likely remove his sig sticker though because I am not Johnny Marr. But, he really did offer a probably the most versatile Jag ever conceived. Makes u wonder why Fender didn't think of these changes instead of throwing humbuckers and TOM bridges on jags.
I've never accidentally hit any of the knobs on my strat but I have slapped the pickup selector out of the neck position about 700x when strumming with my nails. If I wasn't planning on selling it I would probably just move it. If I had your issue I would take out a tone knob and move the volume there.
That's what I did. That volume knob is so completely in the way, I can't even believe it ever got put there in the first place.
This is an excellent rectangle

yeah the jagstang is ................well.. it just looks weird. the shape is just all wrong. like an experiment that only proves you can't combine those two guitars, at least not from that direction.
also I've never been into the Les Paul, such an ugly ugly guitar and it is so popular! blows my mind.
when I was young I always disliked the tele because of the tiny headstock but over time I've grown to love them, they sound great it's hard to doubt them for that alone.
pretty much all the novelty guitars and metal guitars are a given for me.
If OSG has tort me anything...

fairplay. I have no idea what people see in SRV and guitarists of his ilk.
Who is that in the photo by the way?

James Johnston of Gallon Drunk.
See their video for the song "You made me".
He's also in a band with Lydia Lunch and used to be a band member of The Bad Seeds from 2004-2010. Great player - and I love the fact that he plays Squier guitars on stage. His main guitar for the bad seeds was a Fender Jaguar, he was in a way the "replacement" for Blixa Bargeld.

Oh, are we naming "guitarists who make Strats cool" now? In that case I'd like to add Isaiah Mitchell of Earthless. I mean, look at that Strat. Damn.

Teuffel guitars. Love the concept, hate the looks.

Those look like waterguns
Edit: Just watched a video of those in action, looks like the luthier has some very neat ideas. Shame about the design though

Never got along with Lace sensors though.
