may i say, that i would accually cut those guitars out of the pictures because a jazzmaster might look as beauty as angelina jolie and heidi klum together but with carpets like those which are on most of the pictures everything will be destroyed
i would photoshop them into a really nice calender if you want. i've got skills, you know? not much time, but skills...

Cool idea. What about us freaks who made franken-never-was guitars? Jazzblasters, long scale jags and other chimeric beasties?
And I agree - all guitars should be nicely shot with tasteful backgrounds, or the opposite: ugly carpeting, sneaker toes, etc.

Right. These are in no way finished. I've just been playing around with the layout & style. I just picked the easiest ones to work with.
I quite like the transparencies but am not sure about the shape. I'm thinking maybe a narrower calendar may work better.
I've kept the first drafts quite crisp - I think I'll end up punking up the text a bit though
Also I could do with larger pictures so that when I crop a detail it doesn't become too pixelated.

Also I'm gonna change the balance of the layout. Larger image, smaller date boxes.
I kind like the dodgy carpets. This is supposed to be about us. I think its cool including a little glimpse of our surroundings.

Nice! The model name is "Electric XII" though
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

I was thinking of a small info box but I don't want to go too OTT with text.

I like this idea, and am flattered that a couple of my guitars have been suggested.
I hope you guys aren't talking about my "dodgy rugs" though...are you?
(I actually like weird rugs - you can learn more on www.weirdrugs.com)
Porky, I like the collage effect you did combiniing two of Zhivago's guitars (the XII and JM). This would be a great way to include more than one guitar of each type. Nice layout skills by the way.

BTW - wouldn't it be nice to have a calendar made for next year?

I think this will be one sharp looking cal. I like how you ghosted the guitar for the background.

Actually there are some pretty high-quality calendar setups available online from the photo-finishing websites. I usually get one with photos of my kids for the grandparents from Shutterfly - provided the photos are high-quality, you can easily upload photos and get the calendar printed and mailed for a pretty decent price. There are discounts as well for multiple copies so if people could agree on 12 photos to update and create a common calendar, the price could be pretty reasonable.
