I was about to type something about how sunburst/white has never appealed to me, until I saw that pic .. I think it's the mellowness of the sunburst and the way the white guard is "reflected" up the neck in the blocks/binding. Very cool.
I'm guessing some of the features on the CS guitar there are owner-specified? You know, "I want blocks with a transition logo .. oh, and make the guard look like someone chundered margerita pizza on it."

I bet it would look nice with a white pickguard, I have always liked that look, sunburst with white guard, you dont see it often on offsets (maybe its to strat-ey for most here?).
Might look a bit like my '69/'70 (repro mint guard).
I've always thougt that you're cool!!
..with a single ply white guard it should be better than best..
nice touch the Hagstorm style string holder...

That's one nice guitar!!!
Thanks! It was completely butchered when I first got it, but with some help from a carpenter friend I restored it to a very nice player.

Is that the original finish? It doesn't look much like a CBS burst (nicer in fact)
Times change. Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky? Now it grows hair! We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger

I am the king of cool
.
Single ply...hm, not my thing I guess.
The string holder...yeah, I'm not to happy with that, especially as the idiot who owned at some point had to drill a lot of holes (with screws breaking off in them) to affix it to the guitar. Of course, the holes go all away through the back. I took that thing off recently and replaced it by a string tree, but now the G string jumps out of the nut, so it may have to go back on. Or I should get some proper F-tuners instead of those Schallers that are on it now.
Look at the holes...aargh...
