Where I can get a small piece of steel to make a baseplate?
I need a tiny offcut to make a Strat pickup baseplate, maybe 3 x 1" (approx) and I'm in NYC. Anyone know? I've also posted in the wanted section, so if you have piece laying around lemme know. Thanks

I have heard of folks in the past using reciprocating saw blades or hacksaw blades for baseplates.

If you can't source it otherwise, you could always find a local machine shop--they generally carry all manner of metal stock, and would likely have cutoffs lying around.

Look on Ebay. They usually cost around $10.
