Could someone tell me what size key I might need for a 2017 Duo Sonic truss rod? My guitar didn't come with any, and the truss adjustment one that came with my US Strat (which is the same as the one from my Jag) doesn't fit, it seems too small. None of the allen keys I have fit it. I don't have any other Mexican 6 strings so I don't know the precedent.
Unless I am blind and it requires a screwdriver, I don't think I looked down the hole with a torch. Probably should've.
The bridge saddles are the same key size as all my other Fenders, so I just use the little one from those guitars, but this one caught me by surprise.

Re: Duo Sonic allen/hex truss adjustment
first off i don't know exactly which allen key it is, but it's definitely a standard one. I have owned a few MIM fenders over the years and it's always the same allen key. it's either 5/32 or 1/8.
I would definitely flash a light down there and see what it looks like. a bad possibility is that the nut is stripped. although i think that's pretty unlikely given that its a newish guitar.
Another thing is that maybe the the nut sits pretty deep in the neck and your allen key's short side isn't reaching it. try to use the long part of the allen key just to make sure depth isn't an issue.

Thanks, I did try both ends. Might just have to buy a set (who buys allen keys?!?) with sizes written on them - none of mine are labelled. That guitar isn't at home at the moment so I'll follow through on the weekend.MKR wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2018 6:17 amfirst off i don't know exactly which allen key it is, but it's definitely a standard one. Re: Duo Sonic allen/hex truss adjustment
Recently, I bought both sets of these and it was soo worth it. I was able to toss out 20 years worth of cheap allen wrenches. $20 later and I can handle any guitar out there.
