Sorry if this is a redundant question asked and answered a dozen times. I'm asking because I want to replace the bridge on my JM with some variant of the single-slot saddles. Do I need to buy String-Savers specially for my JM at $40 or can I simply switch out the whole business for a mustang bridge? Intonation issues?
Edify me, please.
Are Jag and JM bridges interchangable?

Yup, sizewise the bridges are the same and you can drop them in without any fuss. The only difference is the Mustang saddle (single slot) versus the Jag/Jazzmaster saddle (threaded).

Re: Are Jag and JM bridges interchangable?
another variation did exist early with the jaguar having longer legs on the bridge to accomodate the height of the mute (which the JM didn't have).
Mind you one of my 66 jags has short legged bridge but with longer length screws in the legs .... obviously a "running change" gto the design to use up old short legged bridges back in the days.
modern jag and jm bridges appear exactly the same.
