Stupid question about Mustang saddles

Post by Guitarded » Sat Nov 18, 2006 10:08 am

Ok, I feel pretty lame asking this. I got a set of Mustang saddles that I want to try out on my JM bridge.  I just realized when going to put them on that they are divided into 2 different sizes....3 larger, 3 of a smaller size.  Which go where??  I've been playing Gibsons or Strats for years, pretty standard straightforward...the Jazzmaster is the first guitar of this kind I've dealt with.

I'm pretty sure there is meant to be three different sized saddles, they get bigger towards the middle of the bridge, the E strings use the smallest ones, the D and G use the biggest, other ones in between.

Ah, ok...makes sense given the Fender's fretboard radius...didn't give that a thought.  Thanks!
