Same. I run EXL115 on all my electric guitars and have for decades.

Not sure what would be different about Mastery stuff that would cause issues, but maybe I’m about to find out. ::)

That’s just it- there is nothing different about mastery. I emailed woody to find out if it WAS because of the mastery, and he simply told me that it was because of the use of d’addario strings, which was a problem even before mastery began

That sucks to read. I use 12’s (NYXL’s & Chromes) on 5 electrics without an issue, 3 of them have JM trems. I hope your new brand stays consistent & for you.

Thanks man! Yeah those D’addarios are nice, but since this happened I’m gonna shop around a little more

I've never been unhappy with D'Addario strings, and never found them to be bad on any guitar.

That being said, I also have never really experimented much, and I recently started using John Pearse strings on my acoustics and think I prefer those.

Now I'm wondering if I might like some other electric guitar strings better in the same way, so I'll probably experiment a little more than I have traditionally.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

I switched to Thomastik-Infelds after getting frustrated with high e strings breaking at the ball end. Then the high e on the Infelds broke at the ball end anyways, and then the low e wraps broke right on the bridge. Now I'm back to D'addarios, and I just solder all the unwound strings and haven't had a problem in a while.

I think offsets (especially heavy trem use) are just horrible for strings in general.

I've never had a problem with D'addario's and use them in all my guitars. They aren't Dean Markley Blue Steel's, but you can't find those anywhere anymore where I live.

I've used them for probably 15 years or more with no issues on various offsets, from vintage 60s to MIJ/CIJ ones.

I've been using D'addario NYXL 10-46 strings on my Jazzmaster since they were launched and I have never broken a string in all that time, not once.

I've been using D'Addarios on my Jags for 20+ years with no issues. Mainly chromes these days but also NYXL and the bog standard ones.

I use D'addario 11 strings exclusively.
and without any problems as I solder the plain strings at the part were the string wire is twisted. near the ball end.

I think those are great strings and completely reliable then !

I also use D'addario 11's on all of my guitars. My mastery trem+bridge equppied parts jazzy has only ever broken a string once? And it was because it had been on there for months without a string change and I was going heavy on the trem. Otherwise, they serve me just fine. Never had a reason to not like them.

I use the pure nickel D'addarios on the JM, and standard 11s on everything else. Haven't restrung the Jag since I got it as it's apart while I work on the finish, but I imagine they'll be just fine as well.

Maybe there's something to that - I'm using the flats too. 12s.
With the exception of that bad batch (literally), this has been my experience as well. I always get a year or more out of 'em.

D'addario user since 7+ years.
I use(d) them on my Thinline Jaguar with a Mastery Bridge and all my other guitars. I mostly I play 11-56 or 11-54 (only on the Hagstrom) and can only remember one time the high E string broke (and in this case I had the strings on for ages... wanted them to die before I put on new ones)

You could try DR strings - Oliver Ackermann vows for them - and I'd call him an expert when it comes to rough handling offset guitars ;)
