Fender Dynamic Vibrato – Frozen Allen Screw

Post by shshsh » Sat Apr 27, 2019 7:02 am

Hey all,

I've got a '64 dynamic vibrato unit with a frozen allen screw on the bass side, making adjusting the height impossible. I'm not sure if it's rusted or what, but there's some heavy patina on the cigar bar so it's possible.

Will anything work for cleaning it––possibly naptha? Otherwise, it'll just have to be at a fixed height . . .

Your best bet if it's really stuck is a specialist penetrating oil ...

Leave it for a while (eg 24 hours) so it has time to work.
