Anodized Gold Pickguards - Adding 'Grain'

Post by Danley » Sun May 12, 2019 6:20 am

Vintage gold pickguards have some directional 'grain' almost like a Delorean; the Squier pickguards don't seem too.

Is it possible to use a Scotchbrite pad or similar to add lines to the grain on a Squier pickguard? Or would doing this remove the gold color? Any other ideas?

You would quickly sand into the anodisation so I'd advise against it.
