Agreed about vinegar... That stuff works wonders most of the times. I actually soak my gym clothes in it before washing so that's says a lot lol

Laundry detergents contain myriad whiteners and other chemicals which could react with finishes (would be mainly concerned about nitro) if not completely removed from the lining.

They're also very, very difficult to remove without huge amounts of rinsing and turbulance. Unless you're happy high pressure hosing the thing I wouldn't recommend this at all.

Another vote for direct sunlight here. And the vinegar soak, followed a day later by the baking soda to neutralize the acetic acid. If a week of sunlight doesn't do it, probably time for the dump.
