so i wired my mustang parts out of the guitar cavity because i couldn’t get rid of a hum when both pickups are off, i’m not sure what’s wrong because the guitar is wired the same as it used to except i cannot get rid of that hum, the components are grounded properly, loud bassy hum goes away when touching a metal part. as expected.
also noticed when looking at a standard mustang wiring scheme that when both pickups are off, there is no continuity ? isn’t that necessary to remove that hum ? when i use a jumper cable to complete the circuit i get complete silence but the switches don’t work properly then.
i’m just trying to understand how this works, any clue what’s going on ? i’m just really confused.
i’ve soldered and resoldered and still that hum...
no continuity in fender mustang ? loud hum in off position

couldn't figure it out, so i wired the thing for one 3 way switch, i actually like it better this way, and it seems to introduce less hum than originally when it worked as it should.
