Advice re. Polishing Up Oldish Tuners - Dimwit Q Probably
The tuners on my MIJ Jazzmaster from '93-94 have given drab and grey looking - they work great though! I wondered if anyone knew the safest way to get them to shine again.

I use a silvocloth kind-of thing on mine. Works a treat.

Jay Leno's garage tip for chrome bumpers: aluminum foil crumpled up and dipped in vinegar to scrub the parts. Rinse off well with water and dry. Protect against future tarnishing with car wax.
I've used that on several guitars.
Remove parts from the guitar, and test in an inconspicuous spot.

Thank you for the advice. As you can tell, I'm not a man who habitually polishes stuff!
