Hi,
I noticed yesterday that the tone slider on my rhythm circuit was sitting almost flush with the pickguard, lower than the volume slider, so wondered if that was normal? The screw below it to the right, it didn’t seem to be catching onto anything so took the guard off to check what the score was. The bracket’s flush against the back of the guard, both screws holding it seem to be in place. I removed it to see if I could make the tone slider be more prominent by hand, but it seemed to be protruding as much as it could.
As I’m OCD about things like this, has anyone else got uneven pots on the their rhythm circuit? Is it normal? If not, any ideas how to remedy or what the problem could be? The circuit itself is working fine, I’m wondering if it’s been like this from the factory and I’ve just not noticed!

Re: AO Jazzmaster tone slider sinking?
If it works electrically, it's probably not a breakage? And I am guessing the pots are identical?
The pot could simply be at an angle or maybe it is catching on part of the hole. Maybe the bracket is bent or part of the screw thread is just making it an angle.
However, I suspect its probably just how the knob is screwed on perhaps. There are solid shafts, split shafts (usually with corrugations) and shafts with a flat sections. Sometimes means knobs with screws go on wonky. Best to try unscrewing the knob the screwing on when it's aligned in the guard. If it is that..

Could even be pick guard warp. Hard to know really. Just some suggestions. Especially if someone replaced them and used wrong bracket or wrong pots (electrically fine, just may do stuff like this depending on MIA or MIJ)

Aye, the circuit works fine man, I actually wish I just hadn’t noticed it. It could also be that my volume slider is sitting high and the tone slider is actually fine. The volume rubs slightly on the cut out, while the tone glides free, a heid scratcher. I took the bracket off and checked nothing was on the face, the guard surely can’t be warped(2019 American Original) and the bracket looks to be sitting flush man. Even with the screws out, I can’t make the tone slider more prominent by pushing it against the guard with my hand. The screw that won’t go tight, that must be causing it, not pulling the pot flush or something man.jorri wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 6:22 amIf it works electrically, it's probably not a breakage? I’ve emailed Fender, see about a new screws and bracket. Hopefully they’ll sort me out.
