Inspect the circled area for roughness and/or debris. I suspect that's where that sound is coming from.

edit: Thanks to webrocker.de for the nifty drawing.

haha, I like the movie!  ;D

you should ask Vinkie, I had the same problems as you and he fixed it (and the tuning problems, which I assume you have aswell), works great now.

send a PM and/or visit him in the shop he works at in Amsterdam or Utrecht.

you might even put some silicon grease on it, and the spring. As far as the "thing holding the trem arm" getting loose, you might try screwing it all the way in and then paint over the excess threads on the other side with nail polish.

on the other side? what do you mean, the inside or the outside of the trem? i glued the thing some time ago, and it still came out.  so i took the glue and the washer off a while ago and kept it and now it came loose

Let me make sure I am getting this right, is item #56 falling out? Screw it back in, to the plate with the washer and then paint some nail polish on it. Or you might put a little nail polish on the threads, and then screw it in and let it dry.

no, he didn't post about it, he works in a guitar shop and has a vintage Jaguar so I figured he'd be the best guy to go to when I had trouble with my Jazzmaster's tremolo. I'm sure if you PM him he'll tell you what you can do about your problem.

Vaseline should work. Remember that stuff melts in heat so don't glob it on or the next time you leave your guitar in the sun you will have trem drainage.  :)

regarding item #56, getting an AV one + an AV arm is definitely a good investment. they have a much tighter fit, and that means the trem becomes more responsive, and you don´t get that clicking sound when using it.

Do they fit right in the CIJ plate, Jonas? The Japanese version is metric.

well, there´s a slight mismatch, but i read several times on the FDP that you can screw them in by force. IIRC Ohm-men was one of the people who tried it, with great results.

vaseline'd

the clicking sound is basically because the trem arm is slightly smaller than the item 56. just put tape and theres no clicking sound.

okay im putting it back now, i also put the washer back and put heaps of nail polish on the threads and just a little vaseline on the bottom.
