Well, the bridge arrived and I have to say, I'm very impressed. :w00t:

The design is very well thought out: The screws for the string lenght adjustment are set off horizontally for easier access but also VERTICALLY so the tip of the screw doesn't raise as you adjust the saddle backward.

The bridge feels way more solid than the Mustang bridge I used before and it also solved the "too close to the edge" problem with my e strings.

Overall my Jag feels way more solid and resonant. Although it's a little expensive, I'd recommend it to anyone with bridge related issues – it's a definite improvement and worth every cent!

Since my last reply I received and installed the Staytrem bridge for my blacktop Jazzmaster and a second one for another MIJ Jazzmaster. I absolutely love it!!! I agree somewhat with what a few have mentioned about the sustain difference. There is definitely a different feel to the resonance but I'm actually enjoying it. With a mastery in my mij jazzy and the staytrem in my cij jazzy they end up with slightly different and complimentary sustain and response. Granted the 2 guitars also have different finishes so this compounds the difference. I wish it wasn't such a pain to change out the Japanese thimbles for the mastery or I'd do a comparison video playing the same guitar with both bridges.

Just ordered one of these, had some issues with my standard mustang bridge dropping on the high E side, as well as the spacing/radius issues.

A lot of positive reviews on here, hoping it'll be worth it.

Got mine shipped from the UK to Australia quick smart. Looks to be a very well-made product and John was great to deal with. Don't have the guitar to put it on yet, but soon… soon…

Quick question: if this is the same bridge on the Johnny Marr Jag, why are people complaining about high E issues? I know the JMJ has the plastic on the posts and the stainless steel bushings, but does it have the corrected spacing(52 vs 55)?

Hi, from what I heard: it's the improved version of the JMJ bridge, spacing on the aftermarket one is 52mm

Is this bridge compatible with a Fender bridge cover?

You could try and force it on... but otherwise, no.

I got two 9.5 staytrem bridges and the fender bridge cover fits fine. Its a snug fit and IMO it fits better than the fender bridge.
great product I couldn't be happier! Setup is r e a l l y easy, looks great and John is a great guy to deal with.

The bridge cover on my Marr didn't fit. It was like the same width as the bridge base, so a no-go.

I looked into he staytrem to see how much they were going for. I was wanting to get one for a potential project, and have one on my Marr. But I was surprised to find the staytrem is even better than the one on the Marr, I thought it was the same bridge.

Noticing that the Marr bridge initiation screws are rattling, and even coming loose. A friend has the same problem.

the bridge on the Marr jag has springs?? the staytrem has plastic washers and no springs!

the saddles look different too and the intonation screws on the staytrem are off centered....
