Still tweaking the neck pocket a little to get the action to settle in where I like it, but it's a pretty badass twang machine.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
last night, i refretted and replaced the nut with a bone blank on someone's 78 musicmaster bass. i never changed the nut on a round lam fretboard before now. turns out the nut slot shares the same 7.25" radius as the rest of the fretboard. makes sense though, they would cut the slot while the board was lying flat before being laminated. getting the underside of the nut that i cut to match the radius was easy enough. all it took was cleaning up the old one, scribing it on the new one, and about 5 minutes of careful filing. i got a bit of a surprise when i popped the original nut out and discovered that it was made of plastic. i thought fender would have been using better materials on american made instruments back then, but then again, the musicmaster was a budget model.

VI neck
jazz body * don't do a thread to it cause is" deja vu "but this time it will full accurate "vintage mojo" radius 7.25 ,trem placement ,mustang or jazz bridge (need to source one)only the finish will be interresting i will try gold sparkle matching headstock with b+b
jazz neck + fretboard

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
The lower tip of the mustang plate is going to be filed down to fit snug with the pickguard. And this pick guard is a test scrap PG that I used when I built the Electric VI prototype. So it has it's flaws The upper plate is going to sit deeper into the pickguard, leaving a better line towards the body.s_mcsleazy wrote:your control plate is a bit large, what you planning?Jazzprod wrote:Love your work Ludo!!
