JM and Jag roller pot brackets are the same. Should work already.
Nope. There's a small difference in the lenght. JM plate is little bit longer and won't fit to Jag. Not sure, however, whether CiJ and US plates have the same lenght.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! That's something very nice to hear.

It's a cool idea, but I think I'd like the switches to stick out a little more. Can you make the pcb adapter a little thinner?
Probably it would be possible to do 1mm version. Special screws will be required in this case, because you would need some space for the screw heads. You would also need a countersink tool for the plate. The screws I found have 0.025" head height (0.635mm), so 1mm technically should work. Will share updates if/when I do that.

Stock DPDT switch screws have about 2mm head height, so 1 plate is needed to hide screw heads and another one to mount everything.

Japan and American use different mounting plates, the Japanese models the screws for the plate are closer together than on American.

This. I promise you that US JMs and Jags, the brackets are the same. Same part number from Fender, etc. There is a diff between US and MIJ, but that's not a jag/jm diff. It's a metric vs. imperial manufacture difference.

[ETA: I'm wrong about this. Don't listen to me.]

Thirded.

The roller wheel ID and pots are different too.

Whether or not the roller brackets for US jags and US JMs have the same dimensions (?), they are different part numbers.

Jag goes by 0054503049 or 0054503000 ...
https://darrenriley.com/store/fender-ja ... 054503049/
In AV65 jag manual it is described as BRACKET CONTROL MTG 62 JAGUAR 0054503000.

JM goes by 0054454049 or 0054454000 ...
https://darrenriley.com/store/fender-ja ... 054454000/
In AV65 JM manual it is described as BRACKET CONTROL MTG JAZZMASTER 0054454000.

I've made that mistake in the past, thinking they were the same, but there's just no way that USA Jazzmaster and Jaguar roller brackets are the same, it's like 3/8" difference in length between the knobs/pots.

Just look at some pictures and use the length of the cutouts as a reference, the slots for the rollers are 3/4" long. On a Jaguar plate, the distance between the two slots is only about 5/8" which is slightly less than the length of each slot. On a Jazzmaster pickguard, the distance between the slots is a good one inch, easy to see it's longer than each of the slots.

I mean I've measured these things personally on real US guitars to check, I'm not just making this up.

Well shit, I stand corrected.

I dunno how when I built my Jag I didn't manage to screw this up and buy the wrong one, b/c I was (obviously) convinced there was no difference.

Would you please make a photo of you Jag roller knob plate? That's something interesting to see :)

Does anyone have one of these that they want to get rid of? Or a better alternative?

I have one or two that I currently don’t use - from Jaga‘s first run. They didn‘t fit the Jag Rexter built for me (which has a very narrow rhythm circuit) for which it was intended - so it went back into my parts drawer… would have fitted on the Japan fit body that I now sold again.
Haven‘t tried them in a Squier or US fit Fender body yet.

I do have to look if I have a plate left that fits it though.

Here they are: 1x Conversion Plate and theoretically two spacers for the (regular) rhythm circuit slider - to match the height they stick out.

I didn‘t find the other two screws that secure the switches from with - but it‘s enough for the photo.

I have found this American Pro style plate and wouldn‘t know what to do with those three switches anyhow.

So - if someone in need (and Jaga or anyone else unsble to produce: I would give mine away at what I paid (+shipping in envelope from EU), not the switches or chrome plates though.
