Anodized pickguard?

Post by lammie200 » Fri May 18, 2018 3:07 pm

Tone-Guard. Has anyone dealt with them? I want an anodized pick guard with some customization for a Jazzmaster that I am putting together. They must be busy because no response to my (2) emails and their phone voicemail is full. Been a couple of weeks now. Anyone had success dealing with them?

Don't waste your money or time. Toneguard is NOTORIOUS for having communication problems and not getting people what they paid for. Type this into Google: "site:Offsetguitars.com Toneguard". There may be a space between "site:" and "Offsetguitars.com".

I found a Tone-Guard Jazzmaster pickguard used once, or B-stock, I bought that.

I also had him make me a pickguard once, I got the thing, but it was an experience I won't soon repeat.

There is a company called Eden you can find on eBay, they make good pickguards that don't fit very well but you can sand them and shit. You can also return them, which is a likely possibility in my opinion, but they have great customer service.

There aren't any good choices out there that I've found. I have hopes for the new person who is making aluminum pickguards on here.

Don't.

Always worth doing a search as mentioned, many many threads about Wayne's excellent customer service and stellar record of fulfilling customer orders ::)

The good news is OSG-er 'gdayj' is now producing new anodized guards on (I think) a pre-order/batch production type setup.

Yep, it's amazing to have a forumite making these now.

Just before he started working on these, I picked up a Toneguard black Jag guard - used on eBay. Would never give them my money after years of reading the same horror stories over and over.

If I had to do it over again now, I'd be going to gdayj, especially for the possibility of mix-and-match Jag components. Those look great.

Thanks all. I just sent the forum member a private message. Hopefully they can make what I need.

Let us know how it looks when you get it! I'm thinking about getting one for a guitar I'm planning.

Can't be long now...
Mine are in the good hands of the men and women of the post service - on their way from Australia to Austria... hope they arrive soon and safely! Can't wait! :)
Black anodized jag pickguards. a regular one and a Humbucker variant. Together with a set of three brushed stainless steel plates!
