Yeah, that would make sense. The omission is a mystery.

It's funny how these nerdy detail discussions tend to end like it's an exegesis discussion between religious scholars.

"But...but.. it was revealed to the prophet Shine that the patent designations numbered six. They numbered seven minus one. Three added to three was their number. So it has been written on the Holy Website." -"Yes, but here on the Holy Website their number is five!"

Jim, if you're reading this:  ;).

The number of the patent designations was not to be five, excepting that thou then proceed to six.

Five is the number thou shalt seek, and the number thou shalt seek shall be five. Thou shalt not stoppeth at four, nor shalt thou stoppeth at six.

The doc is right, there is a late 64 early 65 decal with 6 patent numbers in the first line (which lines up perfectly with the line above) and DES number alone on the second line. No idents either way on the first two lines.

I also have several late 65 early 66's with decals that look like this, which also isn't mentioned on Jims site.... 4 Patent numbers on line 1, and DES on line 2

Its a 62 that got a factory FMS finish and white guard in late 65....
I'm a reasonable man get off my case...

I think what's wrong with it is that it is too far to the right
