Great to hear others have made it work. Thanks for the pics steadyriot. I think I'll definitely move forward with the mustang bridge/tele saddle combo experiments. I'm a pretty big fan of how a 3 saddle bridge feels, and (I may be crazy) but i think it adds a perceived loudness to the tone of the instrument when played unplugged. As long is it works well and doesn't cause tuning issues with the trem I may really like this.

PPG the money to your friend in the UK, they pay John and receive the item, mail it to the US. You give 'em a bit extra for some beer money.

Simple as.
Simple once you have found that friend, and I think just may have :)

I notice the bridges are currently listed as "sold out" on the website, so I suspect John is only making a few available at a time due to his reduced manufacturing capacity.

And no, I'm not seriously considering moving to England, Shadow, although I am a Pommy citizen (despite being born and bred Aussie).

Cheers!

I likely won't either. Honestly, Norway has my eye a lot more than most countries, and I likely won't ever leave this country as much as I really want to.

Wouldn’t recommend anyone to move to the UK. I wonder wtf I came back from Spain...

Anyway — PSA for anyone who is here they have some 7.25 bridges back in stock.

I managed to swoop on one.

Even if you’re a UK resident you can only buy one bridge at a time. Frustrating but what you gonna do?

Aw jeez... what a bummer. I tried both a Mastery and a Staytrem (and collet/arm) when I got my JM this summer, and greatly preferred the Staytrem - real nice bridges. Glad I nabbed one before it became tougher.

Well this sucks, I was going to buy two trem arms but then this. The upshot is I recently bought a used 9.5 radius bridge on the cheap a few week ago. I don’t even have a guitar to put it in, unless I sell the Staytrem. Or I could swap it out with one of my Masterys and fly to the UK with all that scratch....

For anyone hopelessly searching the internet for a rocking mustang bridge with a more narrow spacing I got really lucky when I bought a used johnny marr vibrato + bridge set recently. Apparently, the older marr bridges had 55mm spacing but the newer ones seem to be 53mm. This photo looks like 52mm but I think that's just the wide lens distortion - seems more like 53mm to my eye.

Thanks. That's the first time I've seen a ruler against the new Marr bridge. Was that off a LPB Marr, or another body colour ? So far we've only heard of the narrower spacing on the LPB bridge.

I wonder if Fender have changed the bridge part number (original was 0091905000). If only Fender would sell it aftermarket a lot of people's problems would be solved, at least for 7.25 radius.

Just curious, is there a reason you put the bridge the other way around from usual?

J.

i do it that way sometimes too. it works better on guitars where you cant adjust the height of the saddles and means you dont have the strings rubbing against the screws.

Sorry, I don't know the color. I bought it from the stratosphere and they didn't mention that. The only marking on the bridge seems to be a capital M on the underside.

As for the bridge screws facing the other way, it's also marginally easier to adjust the intonation screws as the strings don't angle towards the body. I'm going to switch them out for hex screws with nylon washers soon though (waiting on the washers). For anybody wondering, the #4-40 machine screws are the right size for the Marr saddles.

For anyone else seeing this thread resurface and panicking, fear not! Staytrem resumed shipping internationally earlier in 2021 and are still going strong as far as I’m aware. 😄

I saw this thread pop up again and thought maybe they had decided to stop shipping abroad again. I imagine they must have lost a lot of sales when they restricted shipping. I don't know the inner workings of their business, but it seemed like a big mistake to me.
