Yeah, I hear you, but to be honest if I was going to even put in new pickups I would leave my soldering gun cold in the closet and just pay someone to do it. For one, I don't have any time that is not spoken for, secondly, I have a three year old and a five year old getting into everything while I work at it. I'd say it should take 10 minutes and most of that is just unscrewing the pickguard and screwing it back on. Anyway, I just figured I'd mention the option.
