Re: Olympic White Jazzmaster Project
Really curious to get your opinion on the Picassos when it's all done; I have a bridge model wound 10k with de-gaussed A5 (his opinion, the best match to a WRHB,) and it is very bright and low output. Yours should be stronger with the full-strength A5 and greater amt. of winds. Not that a lot of people don't want that or buy these for that low output/bright tone in the first place, but it's funny - A vintage-wound Jaguar or Jazzmaser single in the neck decimates mine in the bridge volume-wise. Good call on getting a set there, just in case. They're def. quality though.

I tend to go for high ceramic humbuckers, but I do like JB's and those are alnico 5 so I figured it might sound similar or at least have some oomf. I got a more traditional set of his pickups that were great, but the output was too low/quiet for my tastes.

Re: Olympic White Jazzmaster Project
I actually have two other Rose sets - Two Buff Beauties in a Mustang (almost perfect - higher output but very clear,) and three Strat Mariposas (need to find a Strat for them, but last time I had them installed I loved them - just right as far as output and tone balance.) The Picasso is my outlier, still trying to figure out how I really want to use it.

Cream or white plastic? I am leaning towards white.

Both look good to me, but I'd probably go with the white.

Re: Olympic White Jazzmaster Project
Did some work on it today. I drilled the bridge thimble posts bigger to fit the thimbles and installed the ground wire. I squared off the tremolo hole for the tremolo and marked where the screws need to be drilled to mount it. Need to order tremolo mounting screws and shielding paint. The Allparts neck fits with no sanding needed. I also worked on sanding the shine off of the mind guard and adding some goop to the white knobs to dirty them a bit. Added the strap buttons.

Got a coat of shielding down. Also tremolo is mounted. I also did the pickguard shielding and wiring today.

Re: Olympic White Jazzmaster Project
Installed the Gotoh Kluson looking tuners and a bone nut. Just waiting on pickup covers and the shielding paint to dry.

Re: Olympic White Jazzmaster Project
Progress! I wasn't having luck getting white Picasso pickup covers so I just ordered some normal white Jazzy ones instead. I put foam between the pole pieces so the holes in the cover would be blocked. I also put foam in the cover on the left and right to help keep the pickup from shifting left or right. Once that was done, I got the pickguard and pickups screwed down fine. Sadly when I went to mount my neck I realized I didn't have any strings to align it. I will just have to totally finish it once I get more strings. It is looking good with the white though!

Re: Olympic White Jazzmaster Project
I like the way you made the JM covers work with your pickups. Nice looking guitar, there.
