New Black Jazzmaster (project-like) Thingy

Post by Footbutt » Tue May 14, 2019 9:03 am

I've always wanted a black Jazzmaster, and being a Lefty, it's hard to come by one.
So i found a lefty MIJ Jazzmaster on eBay and i'm going to do some upgrades.

1. New Novak PAF Jazzmaster pickups
2. New 500k CTS Pots
3. Spitfire Tort!

Hopefully i should get the guitar in this week!

Play beautifully! Sounds like a turd, but i'm going to replace the pickups. Pots feel and sound nice and smooth.
Just waiting for the Spitfire email...

That's a sharp looking guitar!
Black gets a bad rep on here lately but it's one of the classiest colours on a guitar imo.

Nice score! Curious about that Spitfire guard! What are you ordering?!

Wired up the CIJ Jazzmaster with new Novak JM-PAF pickups and this thing is ready from some Midwest Post Rock!

Here, with my 2016 MIJ Jazzmaster.
The two are almost identical, but the MIJ is just slightly heavier and the neck is a little bit thicker.
Both feel and play GREAT.

Looks great!!! I’m a big fan of black JMs with white or mint pickguards, though I know spitfire does great work and you’ll be happy with his stuff.

Got the Spitfire Tort in!
It's gorgeous!
Swapped for my Novak pickups (JM-90, JM-V)

It reminds me of the second incarnation of my beloved Jaggy.

It's just perfect. Pure class and mean look. :-*

Black with tort is a great combo. Add some chrome and you have class. And you have it!

That pickguard is nice. I want to do something like that with my Jag. Right now it's all black, kind of boring.
