Squier VM Jag refinished in OTM
Bought this Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar in Sunburst from a guy for 170eur - the seller said it was "broken", all the strings rattle on the upper frets and the bridge has to be replaced that's why he sells it for a cheap price... yeah right
I really don't like sunburst soo ...
Looks kinda like Ocean Turqoise Metallic... close enough at least
So I roughed up the poly clear
Mounted it on one of my spraying stands
Sprayed Primer
Sprayed Metallic
Sprayed Clear:
and then assembled the whole thing :
I really like how that turned out - looks almost sherwood green in the evenenings but turns more blueish in the sunlight...
Electronics are still stock - wanted to upgrade the pots but couldn't be bothered to enlarge the control plate holes (they are smaller for metric pots)
The soldering on a jag is a horror compared to a JM because of the switches and all the cavities where the wires are going through
Kept the Duncan Designed pickups for now - removed the logo with acetone though... maybe upgrade that sometime in the future
so yeah - my first Jag :-)
pretty much stock apart from the refinish - right now I don't see the need to upgrade anything

That’s great!
If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

Very nice
You made it look so easy... And why no matching headstock? ;-;

Looks great - but tighten that high-E grub screw on the bridge, it's worse than a long nosehair

impressive!
on one hand i like sunburst guitars, but on the other, this one looks much better like that!
Did you get that glossy result without wet sanding ?

Thanks for all the "likes"
I thought about a matching headstock but somehow I really like the yellow tint as contrast to the green... was tempted though
Thanks - I finish 3-6 guitars a year since a couple of years so it's already pretty much a routine
