Guitar Mill?

Post by ziess » Mon Nov 27, 2006 9:48 pm

Hi guys,

Does anyone have experience with Guitar Mill in Tenessee? For my upcoming Jazzmaster build I was thinking of having a Warmoth neck and body shipped to them for finishing in aged Ocean Turquoise. Their prices seem pretty good and Mario, the owner, seems like a nice guy from the correspondence we've exchanged so far.

Any thoughts are appreciated
Tommy.

I did a custom guitar for Dale Ockerman last month, and he had the body drop shipped to my shop.  It is the only work I have received from them and never spoke w/ anyone there so I can speak to all that, BUT I can say i was quite happy w/ the quality of the wood, cuts and such from them.
Gonads are useful for their purpose, but are NO substitute for brains.

I bought a 3.8 lb one piece ash Strat body from them (finished in 2TSB nitro).... for MUCH less than the other shops. The quality is pretty good. The only observation I can make to the negative is that the clearcoat was way too thick for my liking. Otherwise, I am happy with it. I made a thread here:

I have a Tele body (with Nitro Sunburst) made/painted  by guitar mill and the quality is first class, it's probably the best aftermarket body i've own :)
