Yeah, a huge bummer. Fortunately, I still haven't started the body I was going to build for this, so, the delay doesn't bother me that much.

But was it always the plan to do vintage amber tint on the finish? Kinda defeats the purpose of the white binding, doesn't it? Also, from the pics, it looks like only the side of the binding has finish, so the top edge is still white and doesn't match?

That was exactly my point.
I would really prefer actual white binding.
How is the consensus here? Should we tell them (Allparts), Brad?

But with the top still being white that seems kinda normal with finished/aged lacquer on Binding (judging only by two of the three (non vintage B&B) MIJ necks).

Vintage necks have clear lacquer that has yellowed over time on top of white binding . Since this is a 1965 spec, I imagine that's what most people would prefer.

I guess I expected more of an AV65 or better said AO kind of spec-ed neck (as we agreed on a 9,5“ radius) which both have white Binding (as does my Thinline Jag).

Would be the better looking aesthetics in my opinion.

I'm glad we're all on the same page.

I'm not going to talk numbers here, but I've updated my game plan. There will be 30 necks, maybe a couple less if Allparts rejects any from the second round. My plan is to offer those, in unlimited quantities, to every OSG member who is on THE LIST. I will maintain THE LIST here, and if I sell out the 30 at my cost, plus shipping, that's great! When they're gone, they're gone. For me, this project is about paying it forward.



The thread in the classifieds and my Reverb site will list the retail price. I'll only discuss my cost via PM to OSG members on THE LIST. I'll have two necks by Saturday. If you're on THE LIST and want dibs on either or both, shoot me a PM. From this point forward, it will be first come, first served (as available).

Hey OSG people! So glad that I found this thread. I’m in the process of building my dream Jaguar (Frusciante inspired) and this dots and binding neck will be the icing on the cake.

Thanks to Lowe Guitars for setting this up, and for adding me to THE LIST!

OK, I have the first two necks in-hand, so I'm going to say THE LIST is closed, at least for now. I have more than $6,000 accrued towards this project, so I hope these go quickly.

I have posted the photos and specs I shared here earlier in the classified ad, and once I have the remainder in-hand, I'll take photos of one neck as a representative of the lot. I don't currently plan to take individual photos or even open each box before it ships out again. Allparts is responsible for the quality control, and they have packaged these wonderfully for resale.

I have copy/pasted the same PM to everybody on THE LIST as a final follow-up to this thread, but otherwise, I'll see you all over in the classified section.
