As long as we're on the topic of suppliers, anybody know where I can find either a bridge and tailpiece from a TVL JM or get Staytrem parts Stateside?

I used the TVL hardware I got from a friend who went the Mastery route on my Jag and love it. I'm about to start a matching Jazzmaster build and would really like the same hardware for it.

Thanks!
The TVL trem (0054466000) is the same as AVRI62/AV65 trem, which also goes by 0054466049 ...

https://shop.fender.com/en-US/parts/bri ... 66000.html
https://www.angela.com/fenderjazzmaster ... 66000.aspx

The TVL bridge (7702080000) with brass saddles and Staytrem-/Marr-like anti-sink nylon bushings is unique to the TVL and sometimes crops up on reverb, eg
https://reverb.com/nz/item/4546585-fend ... dge-chrome
Similar to the original Marr bridge (~56mm E-E spacing ?).
Ended up getting that trem (for now at least, until the Descendant is available at which point I'll move it to my Squier VI) and a Marr bridge for the JM. MJT is buffing it in the next couple of days and (hopefully! ) I'll have it in time for the 3 day weekend...

B&B necks!

Post by MayTheFuzzBeWithYou » Thu Jun 20, 2019 1:06 pm

Hey it's more a question than a recommendation: (so mods: feel free to move it anywhere where it fits better!)

European/German offsetters forward!
Have you ever heard of the (German) supplier Hermann's guitars? I was looking for B&B necks (Jaguar necks originally... I vaguely remembered a seller from Australia "SurfJag" or some other combination of words associated with Surf and guitars - but couldn't find any offers of them but instead I found this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stratocaster ... Sw~dhcsPNM I think they look good!
It says Canadian maple - but could be another one of those Chinese necks... but they look more Jazzmaster-y than the one I have/Rexter is having at the moment for headstock matching - due to the position of the Truss-rod access. And I payed almost double for mine... :fp:
They have a Pau Ferro fingerboard - but in fact look really good!

Any experiences with these necks or the seller?
If not and desperately in need of a B&B neck for a project? You're welcome! ::)

Who do you recommend for Jazzmaster parts in the UK?

Depending on what you're looking for, Northwest Guitars sell the Hosco trems & bridges for really cheap. They are the exact same parts as the Fender Japan parts, except the trem plate doesn't say 'Fender' (which can be a good thing).

https://www.northwestguitars.co.uk/sear ... on=product

(they seem to be out of tremolos for the moment but they stock up regularly - when there isn't a world-wide pandemic going on, that is)

Thanks for the heads-up! There is a shop selling bits on Reverb too - blackstar guitars in derby. You ever dealt with them?

I never used them personally, but they seem to know what they are selling and the prices are decent. Not the cheapest, but at least they sell quality stuff...
What is it exactly you're after? I get my parts from all over Europe, sadly there doesn't seem to be a shop that storess all of the different parts/brands I like to use. :)

I have a body and neck and that is pretty much it for now. So I need the rest ;D

There is no rush, but I am keeping my eye open for trems, bridge and pickup options. For pups I was thinking Mojo. Let me know if you have any strong recommendations. I did see a hardtail plate on reverb us but that might defeat the purpose of owning a jazzmaster...

Well, bridge-wise, I think a lot of us will agree that the Staytrem is one of the best options out there :) Simple, indestructible and totally hassle-free.

Our own Emma Music sells a lot of Jazzmaster parts- https://www.emma-music.com/boutique_us/ ... r&triage=0 - and they tend to be a bit cheaper than other shops. I think they ship to the UK for a flat fee of 15€. And they do have the cheapest bridge thimbles in Europe (5€ vs. a ridiculous 20€ elsewhere).

And finally, Thomann sell the AVRI trem at a very decent price: https://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_tremolo_jazzmaster.htm

Thanks for that. The AVRI is decent! I will take a look through EM site too, they have loads of stuff.

Hello,

Does anyone know where I could get pots for a Japanese Jaguar at the moment? I'm in the UK.

Hi there! I'm looking for a Warmoth-style company in the UK* that I was mentioned here (I think, but couldn't find it on this thread), that offered guitar and bass made-to-order bodies/necks... It's not Guitarbuild. I remember they had no custom builder on their website, it was a pdf with all options that you had to download, fill out, and then email it back. Does it ring a bell to someone?

* there's a chance that it's not, but for some reason I'm convinced it was based in England

EDIT: they didn't offer Fender-style headstocks, and if I remember correctly, they own design (both Strat and Tele-like versions) had a batwing look
Graphic designer (comics stuff, Doctor Who, Star Wars...): https://www.instagram.com/monsieurgordon/ \o/

Thanks for the recommendations, I am trying to create a customized guitar as per my requirements. Most of the links provided above are not working. Can anyone recommend me best place to buy bridge from and seller should be helpful and can answer some queries that I have.

For base amps you should try: https://www.partsisparts.net/

and for your acoustic guitar bone saddle you can contact https://macnichol.com/they have good variety of saddles and seller should be able to provide you a customize solution as he is very knowledgeable about guitars. (Helped me with my martin guitar earlier)

anyone have any recommendations for headstock decals? i am specifically looking for a Kramer decal, from the EVH banana neck Kramer era, for my EVH inspired project. Atexx doesn't have a Kramer decal at the moment, and some of the prices i've seen of available ones for a single decal with shipping to Canada are just silly..
