Anyone in the EU do custom pickguards like Spitfire that will fit an MIJ Jazzmaster? I'm getting tired of the dull tort and would like something a bit more eyepopping.

For the pickguard check earlpilanz on ebay.co.uk:
https://www.ebay.ch/str/earlpilanz

He has a huge array of options, and lately from him I got a new one for my MIJ Jazzmaster.
He was very kind to send me the template, prior order, so that I could check if it would match.

Thanks for the info! Was hopping to find someone who wasn't in the UK because of Brexit shipping issues, but I'll definitely keep him in mind as I keep looking.

Look up Lavaguards on instagram, I believe their handle is @lava.guards and I think they are EU based

+1

Paul's in the UK. He made the pickguard for my Bass VI, which you can see on instagram. Looks even better in person. I'm sure he can make one for your MIJ JM at a fraction of what Spitfire would charge.

DGuitarParts' site (http://ww12.dguitarparts.com/) isn't showing anything besides a white screen with a bit of text. Can someone help me get to their site?

Theoretically it should fit. Both Guitar Mill and Warmoth products are built to accept Fender products (unless otherwise specified) so they should fit. It's always best if you can get dimensions, though.

Who is making some of the best bang-for-the-buck custom necks right now?

Musikraft seems great...anyone else?

I think I want to get a high quality neck made to replace my CV neck. I like the radius and the fret height (6105s I think?) but a higher quality neck would send the guitar over the top.

I am going mad trying to find Mustang bridges with 2-1/16 (52mm) string spacing, and I really don't feel like shelling out 84 fucking dollars for one Johnny Marr/ Troy Van Leeuwen/ American Professional bridge! Does anyone know places that offer bridges in the smaller spacing size?

Unfortunately there's very few out there...it's a bit of a specialist thing. Staytrem are the best traditional looking option but definitely about a hundred bucks. Just be grateful you even have the option...a lot of us here remember all too well when there wasn't anything at all!

Unlike other 'upgrades' (like the utterly pointless locking tuners snake oil) it's worth the money.

the AM-Pro is definitely worth the asking price, as is the Staytrem, which is only a few bucks more. The problem with the classic vibe bridges, if you can find one to purchase, is that they suffer the same problems as the $25 mustang bridges: loose manufacturing tolerances which result in bridge sinking and pot metal saddles, which can sound dull compared to the ones used on Am Pro and Staytrem. I'm a cheap bastard, but I find them worth the added cost.

For the European customers - shims from Paris for 7.50 EUR, to avoid those ridiculous prices from Stewmac (or Emma):

I paid postage 1.5 EUR, received it after a less than a week. Turns out I do not need it but nevertheless.
