Yeah, any attempt to take some kind of carpentry type device to a strat is okay in my books, but I think the best treatment for them is covering in lighter fluid, followed by blow-torchingdaydreamdelay wrote: well as long as we're talking about Strats here I don't really see the problem

From the look of this pic he also set his crotch on fire in the process... I hear that's the best way to get rid of crabs though.
... and not setting it on fire. I hear that his Jazzmaster is now in the hands of Steven Seagal, a douche of Malmsteenian proportions.Naturality wrote: On a much smaller scale, but he gets brownie points for playing a Jag

I hear Justin Hawkins did that before leaving The Darkness:pullover wrote: From the look of this pic he also set his crotch on fire in the process... I hear that's the best way to get rid of crabs though.

Andy hey, don't insult the Seagal, he's cool, and a chef that can fight crime using outdated fighting techniques.

Re: !!!!How to scallop your neck like YNGWIE MALMSTEEN!!!!
Having played some metal guitars myself, I've played a few scalloped necks, I really see no point in doing it. I built one of my own using a harmony neck, turned out pretty well, but it really did not have anything going for it either. I found it no harder or different than playing a regular neck, except that you could bend strings and do minor pedal steel effects by pressing down harder. I see of it as pointless marketing fodder anyway, as is most things in that high-speed metal guitar.
As for the argument on strats, I like em, but not as much as I like the Offset Fender guitars. I own a few, but yeah, the odd part is they are much more modified than my Jaguar is (most have new pickups, new trems, extra routing, extra switches, and so fourth). I've heard of people trying to turn a Jaguar into a strat before, but not the other way around.

Actually, I tried out a Malmsteen sig strat once. It was sonic blue with a maple fretboard.
And I REALLY LIKED IT. It was a great guitar. I'd be happy to own one of those... as long as I could remove the sig from the headstock.
