Floating Tremolo Route Tracing
I am currently working on building a body myself out of an alder blank I got from GuitarMill, and I have a Jazzmaster, but when I went to pull off my trem to trace it, the screws are stripped. Not so fun. So do any of you fellow offset...ers have a tracing of the tremolo route and depth handy?
Thanks in advance.

Eep, that doesn't sound good! If I remember when I am at work tomorrow I'll borow some calipers and take down the measurements of mine since its currently stripped out.

Now, are you looking for a solution to your stripped screw problem, or are you trying to get your hands on a cavity routing template? I could duplicate mine for you, if you want, but it'll take a little time. I screwed up my finger last time I touched my router. Nothin' too serious, just stupid.

Hey,
the measurements on my 2004 CIJ Jaguar body are:
65mm long
70mm wide
34mm Depth
If you look at photographs of a stripped Jag or JM body you'll also see a sort of semicircular notch cut out? You need to take a 15mm drill bit and drill the hole so the edge of it is just touching the top edge of the main route then you should be able to cut the corners out to get that notch.

Thought that pic might help you get a better idear, not sure on the radius of the corners, it looks like maybe a 10mm or 8mm drill but thats just comparing the way it looks to the notch that came up as 15mm.
Its actualy a pic of my body as it was when I bought it, removed the ugly pick holder, added a shiny abalone pickguard and control plates :-) Parts are so expensive though, especialy when you have to import most of the bits.

Sorry if I didnt quite explain it properly but that top notch you need to move it up a bit so its a full circle, with the lower edge just touching the rectangle. Then cut the bottom corners out of the circle to get a little bit of a straight line.

Hey Quandar, it looks pretty good. I got a printout and droped it into my jag's trem route and it fits great! Good work.
