lipstick neck. jag bridge.

Lipstick on alone until Blowin it by Dino. then its both. Then the poor attempt of The Grobe by Ween is the rhythm circuit. I hate messing up easy songs, I guess I should practice more.

Going to put the Jag back to stock and make a baseline recording. I think I am going to get a set of these lipstick pickups eventually. I really dig them. Low output so they get great cleans but I dig their overdriven tones and they aren't as bright.

I really like the sound of those lipsticks.

Really hard for me to choose between those clips. The ones I consider to have the best cleans I don't like so much when dirtied and vice versa. As much as I love the SD QPs in my Jag I sometimes run into that problem with the cleans, unless I midboost them a bit.

really? I like the lipsticks clean and dirty the best. It is hard with these tests, I left everthing along for each test, only adjusting volume and gain, but normally I would run EQ with different settings to optimize things.

I forgot to add, when you play Say it Aint So, in the main riff, when you arpeggiate G#, the strumming is like this:

A string, E string, D string, G string and B open:)

It's the way it's done:)

Official tab is E string, A string, D string, G string and B open

E|---------4--X------------------------
B|--4h5---5--X------0--------------0--
G|--4-----4--X------5-----------5-----
D|--4h6-------------6--------6--------
A|--4----------------6-----6-----------
E|-------------------4--4--------------

For whatever reason its not lining up right. But that is the official tab.

I did fudge up a lot in those recordings. Thats not one of them. ;)

Also I found out that D'Addarios suck and had one break in the middle of one of them

Trust your ears, use tab as a guide not the definitive word on the song. Several times I noticed that solos are tabbed in the wrong positions or the song is in a weird tuning yet the book has it in standard. It's why I don't use them anymore. According to a few friends of mine who play, they've had the same problem.

Agreed. I help out a kid across the road with guitar sometimes. She has this 3 inch thick AC/DC book. Looks very official. the song Beating Around the Bush is wrong. Not "that's not what I hear" wrong. Just plain wrong, period... She also has a Surf Book I don't recall the name of (I blame my influence :-[ ) and it's one of the big publishers like Mel Bay. There are measures where if you count it up, it falls a half or a quarter beat short! Lots of places!
May God bless the Banjo Players... They try so hard...

I'm thinking about getting some Novak Lipsticks for my Jag, too. What company would you trust to make a pickguard that doesn't have any gaps between the PU and the body? I like the way the Warmoth Jag guards look (the PU screws go through the pickguard - http://www.warmoth.com/Pickguard/JaguarPickguard.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), but I doubt they'd fit my CIJ Jag.

I guess Pickguardian. The only downside with these lipstick pickups is trying to position them in the center and adjusting the height. Since you are mounting it in the middle on either side, the pickup has a tendency to twist. I get frustrated at mounting neck pickups in Teles though.
