idiotbear wrote:Amazing work, Ben. If it plays and sounds half as good as the original MOTORIK, it'll still be incredible. One day, when I have actual money, I'm going to commission you to build me one. Assuming you can wait a couple of decades. ;)

Sharpening my chisels in readiness, Rob ;D You should make an excuse to come over and pick up the Silvertone so you can give it a strum.

Thanks for all the support, everyone. It means a hell of a lot to me :-*

ugly casanova wrote:awesome craftmanship and great design. how does it sound?
Like a guitar, but...better ;)

It sounds the business, actually. Those pickups are every inch as good as the JM ones I had from him. I haven't had a chance to really crank it yet, but it feels really, really solid, and the sound amplified reflects that. I guess it's slightly darker and tighter than I remember a vintage Jag - steeper break over the trem, angled pickups etc. The phase switch has surprised me - I've never really liked them before (though it hasn't stopped me trying...) but this one seems to be a lot less quacky than I expected. The other major thing is how quiet it is. No hum. At all.

antisymmetric wrote:The levitation feature is interesting- do all guitars with Jag pickups do that? ;)
Chambered body + helium. Works a treat - no need for a strap.

That if fucking incredible. Sorry for the expletive, but I'd gladly hand over a testicle for that. I'd even let you have the choice of right or left.

Truly inspiring!

I really like the tiny decal with the serial number on it. I'm totally going to steal that for my future builds :P
