I recently got a CP Jazzmaster Black with a t-shell pickguard. I really dislike the pickguard it has so Im changing it to this: http://cgi.ebay.com/EDEN-Cyan-Aluminum- ... 3ca778617b" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I have never changed a pickguard in my life and Im kinda scared to. Mainly because of the switch above the pickguard. Anyone got any tips on how to not fuck things up when changing a JM pickguard? Noob question I know...
Also, how do you think It would look with that pickguard and all black knobs and pickup covers?

Sorry man, I don't think that guard would fit a Classic Player Jazzmaster. Look for a guard with a tune o matic bridge slot.

Re: Pickguard Noob Question
If the guard fits a US made JM, it should fit the CP. You may need to file the bridge holes ever so slightly, but it shouldn't be much of an issue. I've seen CPs fitted with AVRI style guards numerous times, seems like it works fine.

I looked around, and Mute is right - It will fit. Just some slight filing. If you're up for it - do it. The green guard is pretty sweet. Also I think the black knobs and covers would be a bit much with the black finish, but that's just me. Good luck!
