i love this thing, last month i put a random old japanese humbucker ( ? ) into it because it arrived from the states with a Gibson Marauder bill lawrence clear guitar pickup in it and a gassed-off tort pickguard in a million little pieces ...
Wow, they knew how to be bold with headstock design back then! So wrong yet so right at the same time. Great looking instruments.
I've resurrected my gas for an esquire and have decided to have another crack at a '59 - '60 type build. The finish isn't right due to it being a bit see through for this era but I just want a white esquire with a rosewood neck.

yep, those headstocks are just plain out there ... i love both these basses, just got back from giving one of them a good country style thrashing.
mijmog - your projects look amazing, love the gibson style burst on the telemaster.
i've got to look up the thread on that one ...

Please excuse my bombsite workbench- here's a pic of my 62/63 Jansen Jazzman. I got it in a rough but nearly complete state. I replaced the fretboard with a new one with compound (7.5-12") radius, and green Abalone dots (called Paua in this part of the world). The refin will be in a colour that will pick up on them- something like Seafoam, but metallic, with matching headstock. It came to me with a very bad Dakota Red w/ matching headstock refin, and under that was Ice Blue Metallic. It's all sealed now & ready for the refin. The Tele knobs replace the non-original knobs it came with, that look like they came from a 70's stereo, and the white/aluminium pushbuttons I made to replace the horrible original multi-coloured kitchen appliance-looking things. (They'll sit down further into the pickguard when completed). Will post more pics when it's all done.

Just finishing up my Rickenbacker-ish electric Ukulele.
Also, I refinished my Jagmaster in Reranch shell pink and replaced the tort guard with a Parchment one.
Next to my Jagmaster is another one I just finished painting. It will soon be a La Cabronita-style Tele with 2 Filtertrons, hardtail strat bridge, 3-way switch and master volume.
I've also got a couple of basses I'm working on and just started working on a lap steel.

Today I thought "to hell with my
ridiculously lousy camera!" and snapped these for your enjoyment:
If gentleman prefer blondes, then I guess I'm a gentleman.
Polishing plates sucks. Sorry these are taking so long everyone.
Don't ask.
Gluing the top on Scott Eave's Starblaster (the one at the bottom).
The two on the right are for sale.
Sometimes I just make these things and wonder what the hell I'm doing.
Sun tea is important. LP Junior are nice too though.
