Jaguar 1st impression

Post by m0n0mania » Fri May 04, 2007 4:00 pm

Hey, I finally got my 1st Jag, don't have to lurk anymore.
Got it off ebay for £309 so happy to accept a few dings.
All the bridge saddles are pointing south & a few grub screws are missing so I guess its even buzzier than the norm!

The feeling of short-scaledness appears more exagerated by the tiny frets.
I'm a bit amazed by how poorly the plastic & chrome plates fit together.

Having got it cheap, I'm happy to start fixing up  :D

this applies to vintage gtrs and basses as well, even those where the guard hasn't shrunk
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

I been tinkering with my guitars flat out for years and just gave up because they will never be perfect and always need adjustments.
Right now my jags covered in coffee, dust, various drug traces and dirt but it sounds totally sick, cant beat it! The chrome doesn't even reflect its that dirty with hand prints etc,the tuners look about 15 years old, they are 2.

Screw what they look like (unless you enjoy it of course!) ,just get the sound right and learn how to setup and maintain your jag and i doubt you'll EVER wander far from a jag or jazzmaster.... ever! they are addictive dude!
