First build: Toronado

Post by breezy » Fri Mar 18, 2011 7:06 pm

Hi! I started building this Toronado body late last year using a template I made off of a Deluxe Series Toronado (one with a small pickguard) with a template sander, and I've been going pretty slowly since it's my first build. It's basically the same as one of the original big pickguard Toronados, but I went with a three-control-layout cos I think it looks better.

It's almost done, there's just a few things left to do like route the lip for the control cavity cover and do the roundovers on the contours, plus countersink all the holes.

Nicely done - do you have a neck in mind for it?

Wow, very nice work. We don't see a Toronado build every day, can't wait to see it finished! (Think about Butterscotch for the finish - like mine  )

I was just going to use the neck from the original Toronado I made the template from. That body is... not so good... cos I accidentally dropped it on concrete :fp:

Surf green, with a mint guard and aged white plastic knobs and uncovered humbuckers. And an Electrosocket 8)
