Drawings and tracings heaven.

Post by the older brother » Sat Oct 22, 2011 7:15 am

I don't know if this have been posted before, but I guess it is worth a re-post anyway...

Good site with a shitload of drawings, tracings etc of different quality:

:)
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Good god, that's the biggest collection I've seen yet. I bookmarked it. Wow.

Just the outline...

Check this post at the shortscale too (the swinger mainly!)

In a related note I was thinking there's enough knowledge here at the OSG to post our OWN original designs, templates, etc, of our versions of guitars.

I mean, if someone at the forum is making templates for their own guitars (ie, not selling or planning to sell), he can post this design to someone copy, modify, etc...I have my own and can post here.

Just a thought to get the ball rolling, what do you think?

I like the sound of that! An original design template thread! I could post up all the offset ideas I have that I don't have the means to build ;D

You are a hero! I have been searching everywhere for that. I googled it, offered a guy 20 dollars to trace one but he had sold it, and searched all over 4 different guitar sites. I am going to make a bass guitar out of it, I think. I don't know yet though because I don't know how everything is going to line up for proper intonation and everything! I think I can make it work not sure yet how I am going to do the neck though it is going to be bought for sure but I have to find out where the bridge has to go for proper intonation.

This thing works GREAT for bridge placement http://www.stewmac.com/FretCalculator" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I used it on my last build and even though my measurements may have been a hair sloppy, it still intonated great!

I will for sure use that. I have to learn all the little ins and outs of it. I will probably use the Mighty Mite P-Bass replacement neck. I plan on starting the build in January 2012 and ending in late July. I will probably have all of the cuts done by pros or people who are trusted. I hope I can find someone to route/wire it for a fair price. I will paint it using my dads friends equiptment. I am sorry for hijacking this thread though.

gitarrebassbau is led by really cool guys. I used to post in their old forum but after a big clash the forum split up in two (gitarrebassbau.de and gearbuilder.de)... By that time I was already a member here and didn't check the german forums that much anymore. Mostly because of the building threads: Paul Reed Smiths, Les Paul, Paul Reed Smiths... sometimes a Tele with dragon inlays... you get it. Nothing against it - just not my flavor...
The mods are really nice persons though - with loads of knowledge.

So... thanks for the reminder!

for a split second I jumped on Amazon to find a German to English dictionary, but I think I can manage with the pictures alone :P Thanks for posting this, it's brilliant!
